False documents in personal file leads to termination.

Here's one for you guys to figure out.

Recently I was terminated from a Hospital job due to making a patient wait for an appointment 10 minutes. I was at lunch with two other co-workers, but was the only one punished for the incedent. My director told me that I was on a 90 day probation already and that she had no other choice than to let me go ( three weeks before Christmas too ). I immediately went to Human Resources to try and settle this, because I was not on a probationary period. It took three days for H.R. to get the files from my Director. When I went in to look at the files showing their justification for termination, I noticed that the signature on the file showing me to be on probation was not mine. It was my name but not my writing, but it did match my Directors handwriting on other forms in my file. I'm sensing discrimination, but I'm unsure of what grounds. I was one of two men hired into my department of twenty. However, I recently let it leak that I was concidering dropping nursing school and going to semenary school. So, two choices for discrimination, but how do I prove any of them ? I would appriciate any opinions on what actions to take from here as far as falsifying documents in my file and the charges of discrimination. Thanks in advance.
 
They could legally have fired you for making a patient wait whether you were on probation or not.

It is not illegal to fire you because you are considering dropping nursing.

So unless you have some valid and supportable evidence that you were fired not because you overstayed your lunch and left a patient waiting, not because you've given them a valid reason to believe that you won't be around much longer, but SOLELY AND COMPLETELY BECAUSE OF YOUR GENDER, you're pretty much out of luck.
 
It seems as though I was singled out being as I was the only one out of three people going to lunch together to have any action taken against them.
 
Singling you out is not, in and of itself, illegal. It is only illegal if you were singled out BECAUSE OF your gender or other protected characteristic.
