Hi, I was in a shop the other day ( Co-operative) and I was only in there for 2 minutes but decided not to buy anything as the shop is too expensive. I then went into Lidl and bought my shopping there instead. On returning from Lidl I went back to a friends house, the friend on speaking terms with the staff there. She got a text telling me to come to the shop, where completely out of the blue I was accused of stealing. At first I was speechless and had no idea how to respond, but I asked what I'm meant to have stolen even though the story seemed completely fake. They told me in no uncertain terms that I was just mocking them, that I knew only too well what I'd taken, so didn't tell me. I asked them to prove it, and they say they have footage of me on camera, although they refuse point blanc to let me see this. They said I'd hid it in my coat when my coat doesn't even have inside pockets. I know they're lying because they said they saw me carrying it round in a bag when I didn't have a bag the whole time as bags cost too much in Lidl. Now they refuse to serve me and hurl abuse at me whenever I try to explain the situation or ask for more details myself. What can/ should I do?

Stop stealing people. Keep stealing, you'll get caught and have big trouble. Stop stealing.
