Don't know if this should be in this forum, but it seems the right place.
My mother sold our property and moved to another state. My 2 sisters and I each were suppose to have shares of the land but I wasn't contacted about the selling of it nor did I rcv any money from the sale. This happened a few years back and is bothering me. They don't talk to me since I married someone my mother didn't approve of, so I haven't asked them about it. I want to know if I would have any legal recourse in this.
We had 3 houses on the property, a fairly large amt of land, several barns.

It belonged to my mother and my grandparents. I was told by my sisters that we three girls owned equal shares of the land, that it was given to us by our great grandfather, who owned everything originally.

Also, I know that my uncle owned a parcel of the land and that his sons were given money from the sale, since he had died some years ago. One of my sisters moved with my mom and they bought a small horse farm.

If your mother sold it, then she probably held legal title. What someone tells you has no legal effect. You can check with the registrar of deeds in the county to see what actually happened. There would be a time limit on contesting the sale so if it was years ago you may be SOL. Anytime you think you have a legal claim, you cannot delay in asserting your rights.
