My daughter passed in 2007 she was 2 mths so that means she didn't have any insurance so i had to pay for all her funeral arrangements out of pocket. Her father verbally stated that he would help with the expenses but never did. I had to borrow the rest of the money to bury my daughter from my mother who stated she needed that money back. I have been trying to get the money from him but all he gives me is the run a rounds. Is this a matter i could handle in small claims court?

No. You have no proof the the father said he'd do anything.

Even if you did have proof, suing him won't get you the money.

If you won in small claims, all you'd get would be a piece if paper saying he owed you money. Then, you'd have to collect on that judgment. That isn't easy.

I'm sorry for your loss. I pray your hear will heal one day.

Why not ask him about the statement and the money?

Ask him when he will kick in his share.

At least it will give you guidance in his current position.
Don't expect him to do the right thing.
He sounds like a deadbest.
You're lucky to have him out if your life.

God bless.
