I am building a house and our framing was approved when it was inspected back in May, after a lot of fuss and getting a stamped approval from an independent engineer that designed our trusses. Now in the final inspection this last week they said it doesn't pass because it lacks 6 inches of head room going down the stairs. Do we have the right to make the city inspectors pay for fix? We have to rip out stairs and change the layout of the stairs. Please help!!
