A friend had urged me to apply for a part-time aid position at a school in IL. I was "hired" and directed to submit fingerprint/FBI backround check.

I did all this and was told to wait for the principle to call me on a date to start. It's been almost two weeks and still no call.

I have never been arrested and have no traffic violations other than a parking ticket in 2000. The only problems I have had is my neighbors. They have been harassing me and my little kids for about two years and I have called the police on them several times, but no charges have ever been filed.

The other reason I did not call the principle to follow up, is that I began to panic. My husband has had a criminal past involving possesion of drug paraphanelia (1 year ago) and other offenses I do not know about.

I am a not a pushy person and I am very embarrassed that my husband is such a "man".

My question is, does my husband's criminal behavior show up with mine? Kind of like a credit report? I do want to follow up on this position, but I am afraid of what he may think of me or my kids. My son attends this school, is on the A High Honors roll with no behavior problems.

Thank YOU for your time.

Sincerely,

No I dont think so, I would just call the principle and see whats up- He has probabaly just not gotten to you yet.

No. Your criminal history is your own - not your husband's. The school district might have contacted the local police who gave them information about contacts with you or at your residence, but that's not the usual procedure.

You can always call the school and find out the status of your application. Maybe they filled the spot.
