Hello,
Please read my story and let me know if you can help me.
I would like to know if I have a case against my supervisor for pain and suffering to at least request a new supervisor. I really don't feel comfortable working under her. I also feel she may cause a hostile work environment for me because I fronted her with HR.
I am a resident manager who lives on the property. I was on vacation 5/28-6/6 upon my return I saw a 3 days notice to vacate, and it had been posted on one of my residents doors referencing me as a witness. For 3 days I was walking around my community not knowing that I could be a target. My Supervisor failed to mention that I was referenced in the notice.
She is known to be an affiliated gang member by the SRPD and affiliates with criminal activity of "known gang members" who are charged with enforcement through threats of violence and carrying out these violent threats. This is a frightening ordeal for me. It has affected my ability to work and live at this time.
My Supervisor signed off on the 3 days notice that was typed up by their attorney. I wrote a statement as requested by my supervisor over a month ago regarding seeing one of the members on the property. I asked the law firm who wrote the document and my supervisor who signed and authorized the posting of the 3 days notice if I will be mentioned because I did not want retaliation towards me, my friends and families life. They both said I would not be referenced.
The other day my supervisor advised me that the attorney had to write it as they did. They attorney stated that I did not have to be singled out. It was written as instructed. I have not returned to work out of fear. The accused is still living on the property. I do not have the money to move. I do not have another job. Do I have any kind of case for pain and suffering because I am starting to feel worried. Why should I have to suffer? I did not do this to myself. Please offer me some kind of advice.
