I have a love one who got coerced into breaking the law for theft by taking by a former employer's supervisor. Due to the way the case evolved, she was held accountable for it, and was convicted of Theft by Taking and is on First Time Offender status. She is in her forties and has no prior record, not even a parking ticket.
A felony conviction, can mess one up if they like to travel. Especially when getting a pass port or going to another country. My question is;

"What can she do when she finishes her 8 yr. probation, to "clean" her record?

Can a felony eventually be erased from a persons record, or do they have to "die" with that conviction?

Thank you, her husband.

Unfortunatly, the record is going to be permanent unless you can find a lawyer that can try to get it expunged or sealed. Being a first time offender, it helps the process. I suggest the lawyer first, then, wait out the probation period. Hope the best for you'll.
