file for seperation

my wife and i have downloaded a legal seperation document and filled it out. Once it is notarized can we take it to the courthouse ourselves to have them file it for legal seperation or doest this process have to go through a lawyer

In most states, you can do it without a lawyer. Call the courthouse to be sure.
