I was hired for a company as a Manager in Training (Future Store Manager) also known as MIT in CA. I was told often by company executives that when a particular manager came back from medical leave she would be let go and I would get her position. Which made it a very awkward work environment which I was pressured to lead the store in a certain manner (as if it was my store) which caused a negative environment. 5mths later the executives change there mind and made me a traveling manager(keeping me at the same store), and told me that I won't be a store manager for a while stating it could be up to a year or more. I was also told if a Store Manager position opened up in the future that I would not necessarily get the position because I would have to re interview for it(Even though I was hired as a Store Manager, Manager in Training and told several times that my position is just like a store manager without a home store, prior to this 5th mth). Then recently I was told that the MIT position was being eliminated and I might only be offered a position as an assistant. Can I sue for the emotional damage this has caused me of having an uncertain future in these economic times?

Unfortunately, no. There is no legal issue here to pursue. Good luck to you!

In these economic times, we ALL have an uncertain future. You're not any different. No lawsuits here.
