Background Info:
- Discharged Chapter 7 Bankruptcy
- All was discharged except for student loans and federal taxes (normal)
- I had some judgements on the state level (NJ) for Creditor collections
- Once Bankruptcy was filed, judgement stopped. (I believe the term STAY)

I never went back to look at these judgements as they were listed on my discharge. However, now about a year later I receive an alert from the credit bureaus stating that I have a new account and it's on of the creditor's attorney for an account and amount that was supposedly discharged.

Did I miss something or was I supposed to do something with those state judgements that were stayed when I filed bankruptcy?

A lien going into bankruptcy is a lien coming out of bankruptcy.

Those judgments will stay there till they die OR the statute of limitations expires.

Thank you SeniorJudge. I understand that judgements will remain there until their time has lapsed.

Last question, does that mean that they can still try to collect on those judgements after those debts have been discharged?
