Filing a CR-143 for an appeal

I am filing an appeal for a traffic violation I got and I am having a hard time figuring out how to file my forms.

What does it mean when they say "any party in the way".

I went to file my CR-143 and I tried to find out who it was that I needed to serve. I guess there was no DA so I don't have to serve the DA but I am supposed to serve "or any other party in the way required by law."

Is the police officer someone I have to serve. I only have a name and a badge number to go by. Do I have to serve him or is filing the CR-143 good enough.

The clerks were a bit surprised that there was no DA. Should I be alarmed too?

This is clear as mud to me. I asked if I needed to serve the officer but the clerks just said they can't give me any legal advice.

If you lost the trial, what makes you believe you can win the appeal?

Usually, appeals only delay the inevitable!

Curious, what makes you think there isn't much of a chance to win an appeal?

Why are they so inevitable?

I feel like traffic court is a complete raquet. I may be just dreaming that we are still in a world where there is justice but I may be wrong.

In which case I will begin to think of myself as a dolphin who got caught up in a tuna net or something like that the next time (knock on wood that it won't happen) it happens.

It's been a long time since I have gotten a ticket. 20 plus years which I am fortunate for but traffic court is certainly not what it used to be.

Then again a lot of things aren't the way they used to be.

From reading the little bit that I have on the advice forum I have also come to see a lot of people are becoming quite cynical about the system as well.

It's almost a "Why bother" attitude.
Next time I am going to just chalk it up to a highway robbery. It's not worth the headache for sure.

Even if it does cost $500.00

I'll let you know what happens.

You got it right, traffic citations are revenue $CAM$.

They exist under the guise of safety solely to generate money for elected officials to confiscate and squander!!!

Fewer than 10% of defendants prevail at trial, and less than 1% of appellants have verdicts reversed.

If you ever get cited in the future, try traffic school.

That is a sure fire way to have the citation dismissed, while also receiving a discount on your auto insurance.

The insurance savings alone, is worth the effort.

It is also fail safe!!!
