How does a person file a judgement against the parents of a minor child for court ordered restitution for damages done to my vehicle that was stolen by said minor. No effort has been made at making restitution and even though restitution is part of a probation agreement, the probation dept. has failed to help in this matter despite numerous calls to do so. This is a N.Y. case.

I suspect you already have a judgment.

Tell us how you got "court ordered restitution".

The young man went to court, the court found him guilty of stealing my vehicle and gave him probation and as stipulation the Judge ordered him to pay restitution to me for the damages to my vehicle. The court set the dollar amount to be payed. That's how I got court ordered restitution.

Then you need to notify the court in writing that this jerk has violated the judge's orders and ask for your dough or for him to be thrown in jail.
