Filing Probate

Is there a statute of limitations on filiing probate in Mississippi ? Grandmother died 23 years ago and daughter is just now filing probate. Daughter was to take care of funeral bill and file probate, according to the will,but never did.
Son has lived in the home keep it up and paid the taxes.(sister lived in another state) I guess what im asking is does she have the right to come in and take over? according to the will she only received half of the estate.

There's no statute of limitations in Mississippi.

The son might have some claim against the estate and/or the sister for performing the duties of an executor, preserving the assets of the estate, unjust enrichment, or something similar. He should talk to a local estates attorney.
