I'm in Louisiana and I have received a judgment against a tenant that broke their lease agreement. The tenant only has a automobile and I'm not sure where she works. Can I place a lien on the title of the automobile? I called motor vehicle and she does own the car that she drives. Other than that, she doesn't have anything else of value.

Than you

I'm not certain that one can place a lien on a vehicle for non-vehicle related judgments in your state - especially Louisiana which has laws that are different than most anywhere else in the country. Have you spoken to the county clerk who could give you some insight? They would be the ones giving you the help with filing. Take a look also at the small claims booklet which may have information as well. Good luck and congratulations on your recent victory in court! :D

You may have won the battle but lost the war. Probably all it is worth is to frame and hang on your wall. Unless a person has real property or your state allows garnishment of wages, you are never going to see any money.
