Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft fines for petty theft

yes i am 19 and i was caught a shoplifting a $16 dollar piece of merchandise. it is my first offense. and i have no idea whats going to happen to me. i was just wondering what the fines might be, and do you think i will go spend time in jail? will i have to do community service? i am a wreck, please reply back, thank you.

will my criminal record be dropped after a year or so? i heard that that happens, thank you
