Can a FINRA U-5 be changed after a termination so that the language as to the nature of the termination is not on the form? I feel strongly that "Termination for Poor Performance" does not reflect accurately why I was let go, and now I was denied a job with another company because of it.

Are you talking about the form the employer sends back to the state to tell them why you were terminated?

If so, that form is not shared with prospective employers.

If not, tell us exactly what the form is for and who it goes to.

The purpose of FINRA is to protect the public in regards to the securities trading profession.

Your only recourse is to request arbitration which will be both costly and time consuming. Your best action is to consult with a local attorney. The initial consultation is usually free.
