My property in Queens, NY, recently had a fire. Thankfully, nobody was hurt. It will require major work to fix it. What's my obligation to the tenant?

Thanks for your help. Undetermined (though originating from the kitchen), but from what neighbors overhead (I don't live there), the tenant was cooking. A neighbor called 911. The tenant didn't call and has not said how the fire got started. The tenant demanded their security deposit back, and so the lease was terminated immediately and I returned their deposit. Now, it seems they may have gone to the city housing dept, and the housing dept is demanding that we fix the place in 4 weeks so that they can move back in. The repair will take at least several months, and we no longer have a lease with the tenant. I'm not sure what to do next.
