My ranch was the second of many damaged by wildfires. The VFD were instructed by the cooke county fire marshal and the muenster fire chief to
"let the whole damn place burn" "serves her right"
They did not investigate the cause of the fire properly. They saw my tools on my ranch ( chain saw and leaf blower, rake and loppers ) and made accusations that I had started the fire intentionally with many different accusations being created as they sat and did nothing to control the fire.
They waited for it to reach the top of the mountain to keep it from jumping the road and damaging my neighbors land and homes etc.
While waiting the F Marshal angrily told my neighbors that if the fire burned their property, homes etc. I was personally responsible. Not just once, he ranted, while a fire on another property close by jumped the road and burned their property and many other neighbors homes and land.
I'm sure after 25000 acres were burned due to wildfires popping up all over north texas the marshals accusations may have changed, if asked again.
But mine being the second fire, it's probably just a vague memory to him.
I have recieved threats first from him, and now from the angry neighbors who
lost land and other property. He officially told them I was responsible without specifically stating that he was just speaking of the fire coming from my property. I'm not saying my neighbors are small minded, but some have lost
everything and that has caused extreme anger, which the cooke county fire marshal said and I quote "She is personally responsible if your property is burned"
I'm worried for my family and my home after recieving threats over the phone.I don't want money, I want an apology, clarification, and a statement given to the vfd listing the proper code of ethics in handling and investigating a spontaneous wildfire.
Please advise me how to handle this.
Thank you,

This is not the kind of question that a message board can help you with. Call an attorney.
