I worked with 30 women, most of who I really got along with. There was this certain group of very young women who hated me from the time I got hired. I am 51 years old, and although it seemed that I got along with everyone, for some reason, these women that hated me kept trying to set me up for failure. One incidence that I didn't know was wrong happened in August of 07, but wasn't even reported until March of 08. So that was on my record as a "talking to". The next warning was when I got snippy with one of the girls that hated me, which was a level higher than me. I got written up because I disrespected a "level 2". I accepted that, but the first warning was a crock and a set up. So, recently, evidently I was seen "waving and lifting my skirt to an inappropriate level" which is what my termination letter says. I heard later that this woman that reported this says that I "flashed" a man that she was interested in. This supposedly happened on a Monday, and I was never talked to about it. I was fired on that Thursday! Everyone in the department pretty much knew about it but me. People were told that if they talked about it, or told me about it, that they would be fired. A couple of my friends did hear about it, and told me, but what was I supposed to do....just quit my job before they could fire me? I waited it out, got my talking to and was very surprised to hear that I was fired. I was blindsided! I had no idea what they were talking about, what the instance was, but they said that several people reported it. I found out who reported what never happened, and of course it was the group of girls that hates me. Management told me that they have plenty of proof, which is just "hear say", but since they filed written reports, they say that is good enough to get me fired. 2 other people got fired for strange reasons that are flimsy reasons just 2 months before me, and 3 more people got fired 1 month after me with the reasons being that they did something that normally their supervisor would have them do, but changed his mind without notice. It seems like they're just trying to get rid of people.
My question is, How do I prove that they just made it up, and it's all hear say? All my friends were told if they talk to me, or about anything that is going on at work to me, they will get fired as well. So, I am going to have a problem getting any of them to come forward and help my appeal for unemployment. They all know that I was set up, and some of the group of nasty ladies even have bragged about it, which is why everyone knew about it before I got fired.
How do I prepare for this appeal? and do I have a chance of winning?

You are not going to like this answer too much, but here it goes: Your employer is entitled to hire/fire anyone at will. They don't need a reason to do so. Your record of not getting along with other coworkers doesn't help either. How do you prepare for this appeal? I find hard to believe that there will be a member of the appeal board that will find your dismissal unjust. So, the bottom line here is for you to move on and find yourself a job where the work environment is more conducive to your work style. Good luck to you!

it's so sad that these girls all under the age of 30, including the supervisor can dictate and run this department. All the ladies that I get along with tremendously are all older and mature. Sad, really sad
