I went for Jury Selection on a Tuesday, I knew the defendant, so when asked I raised my hand and stated that I knew the defendant from my work. The defendant is a graduate of drug court. And when I stated who i worked for I stated it ....."my place of business, drug court". I didn't really think much of what i said....i was nervous and just answered the question. Well that Friday I was called in from my day off and let go because of "breech of confidentiality", from what i said in the court room. Yes I signed a confidentiality form, but he was a graduated of the program and I was under oath. I have never been in written up before....Did they have the right to fire me?

Unless you are in Montana (and possibly even there) or you had a contract or CBA that specifically prohibited them from firing you for this reason, yes, they had a right to fire you.
