I am being fired for something that happened off the clock...while another employee did it on the clock and still has her job...

Life ain't fair, and the punishment need not fit the crime.

You need not be given a reason for your termination.

If I were you, I'd focus ONLY on fixing me and my problems.

I'd apply for unemployment, who knows, people get lucky now and again.

I'd start looking for another job, maybe two jobs, if I needed money.
(Yes, I've needed money in my life, and once worked four jobs (two full-time, two part-time, and all of them were crappy, low wage paying jobs, with jerks for bosses)!!

As noted, life isn't fair. I once had a tractor the 5th wheel broke on. I dropped a set of heavy trailers just before pulling onto the road. One of the terminal employees affirmed to the supervisor I had checked visually to make sure it was properly latched. I wrote the tractor up for a 5th wheel repair and grabbed another. A mechanic checked it, said it was fine and the next day a guy from another terminal hooked a set of trailers to it and was fired for dropping them by his boss. The third day, a driver from that terminal hooked up a van to it, to make his city deliveries and dropped that trailer. He was not fired. I was not fired. The guy in the middle, did not have a boss that trusted him and valued him, he also may not have completed the proper checks like I and the the last driver.

Based solely on what you have posted, there's nothing illegal about that. If you still think otherwise, you'll have to provide more detail.

You certainly didn't furnish any details. In at-will employment, you can be terminated at any time for any reason except for a reason prohibited by law (example religion, race, gender....) or unless you have a binding employment contract to the contrary. Based just on what you posted, I don't see anything illegal done. All employees do not have to be treated the same as long as you aren't discriminated against due to a reason prohibited by law.

Apply for unemployment ins. - the state will decide if you qualify. (& look for other employment)
