When I turned 18 I had damaged a kids car that was threatening harm to me and my girlfriend (his ex). Anyways fast forward I just plead no contest and recieved 18 months probation with withheld adjudication. We are also talking about sealing the files amd for probabtion to end When i finish paying restitution. I'm starting the fire academy in January. Will this affect my becoming a firefighter?

You can do a google search for the requirements to be a firefighter in Fl. or call the academy & ask.

There's more to it than you think, or were led to believe.

Nothing, as in NOTHING you do criminally (except some things as a juvenile) are ever "sealed", such that others can never discover the dark, evil, criminal misdeeds of your past!

I think a call to the department and/or the academy will tell you everything you need to know.

Your actions may not bar you from attending the academy (maybe), but could likely bar you from the employment you seek.
