I'm 20 years old and I made the dumb mistake of stealing at kmart, i took a 10 dallor pair of headphones and was caught, taken to the back room signed some papers saying that i knew i stole the item, guy said i was just going to be banded from the store, cops came in searched me took me in finger printed me, took my picture, stuck me in a cell for about an hour and let me out, they said that i was being charged for a mistermenor for the act, and then the cop said its like a traffic ticket or something like that, this is my frist time and last time doing something stupid like this, because sitting in jail for like 30 mintues was not worth any of this. Well my question is what am i expecting at court, should i plead gulity becasue they have me on camera? and i was thinking of doing the nasp will that help me at all? don't have money for a lawyer either should i even bother getting one, and i know im expecting a fine. thanks

You should start calling Lawyers as many offer free consultations. When you meet with them ask them about diversion as possible plea option.
