Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft First Offense Shoplifting and caught $51 at Target in Mic

My friend was 30 Years Old. It was his first offense. He was caught up when he tried to take out two items worth of $51. Security people came and asked him to go to security room and asked to handed over the Items. He gave both of them. They took his photograph and called police. Police came and enquired about his earlier record. He do not have any record earlier. Then, Police gave him a Uniform LAw citation ticket which says recovered for amount of $50.93. Police told him to go to court with in 14 days and find out for court Date. Target people said that he will be receiving $ 200 fine notice. He went to court and got a court date to attend.

1) what would be the consequences at Court ?

2) What would be the consequences he might get from Target ? What can do with his photograph ?

3) he is on a work visa, Will it be notified to my employer?

He ashamed of himself, scared, tensed at this time.

Pass it on the other stores

If convicted his immigration status could be at risk

He needs to talk to an Attorney familar with both criminal law and immigration law. He should ask about diversion
