A few days ago I was caught shoplifting in Torotno. In the store security officer hold me and asked for Identification. I gave them my Driving license. They noted down all information and called Cops. Cops came and took my driving license from security officer. then security office gave me one legal notice and told I had to pay the fine and and told not to come to that store again. then Cops cuffed me and took me into their car. Then they just took big right turn and came back into parking lot and gave me a lecture that I should not do it in my life again . However, they did write all my information down and searched or loaded data in machine. which was fix in there car. Then he talked to his girlfriend over the phone. I was crying and finally he said let me toes the coin. If you are luck I will let you go. Then he did and I was out of their car. I don't even know what they did with all my information. All I did under stress, due to some personal problem but now more problems.
Now I am wondering, will this affect me to getting a job?
How I will know that in future I will have criminal record.
I am permanent resident in Toronto Canada and in future I want to get citizenship.
Will my first time did stupid work will effect my whole life.
I will pay fine, is that mean I plead guilty.
Please help me finding answer

I am not familar with laws on your side of the border however unless you go to court the only record should be with store and any reatilo theft database they "might" subscribe to

My biggest worry is if police gave you only warning in first offense..is it going to display in criminal background check process. I really need good record for my citizenship.
