Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft First Time Offense: Class B. Help!!

Okay so last night my friend and I were caught shoplifting at a Walmart in TX.

My total items came out to $58 so I got a Class B Misdemeanor and got arrested. I spent the night in jail and got a $500 bond, which I paid this morning to get out.

I have a court date in January. I am just wondering what I should do? I didn't request a lawyer, although I probably should have. I was just really confused and broke. I have never gotten a ticket for anything else and this is my first time being arrested/jailed. What should I expect? I really don't want this on my record although I know it's going to be there.

Please please please help me out. Oh and I'm 20 by the way.
