Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft First time shoplifting in CA

hi there....no excuses for what i did but i took about $100 of food items at a store and LP caught me and took my pic and called the police....everybody was really nice but the police did give me a ticket and it has a court day on it which is coming up soon along with it saying a misdemenour. This is the first time i have ever been in trouble....i don't even have a speeding ticket and to top it all off i am 6 months pregnant....so bottom line is I was wondering what is going to happen when i go to court? i do not have an attorney and would like this to be all settled when i go next week...i don't want to have to keep going back to court...thank you all

Your first action should be to start calling Attorneys. Since many offer free consultations get as many as you can. Ask them about options like diversion

ok but since i can't afford one should i say guilty or not guilty when i go to court

NO! Do exactly as I said. Not affording an Attorney should not stop you from talking to some. Once you do that you will gain knowledge. Knowledge you can take to Public Defender once you request one. Just pleading guilty is like signing a blank check!
