Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft first time shoplifting

ok so i got a shop lifting ticket a month ago and my court date was set to be on march . on my ticket it says i tried stealing 117 dollars worth of clothes. and my record is clean and it was first offense and they marked it as a misdemeanor. also i got a letter from the store saying im getting a fine from them to? is it necessary to get a lawyer? what should i do in this situation im really confused in what to any help would begrate fulll thank you
