My friend and i decided to go to macys one day, and we got a bunch of shirts and pants and our goal was to steal some shorts.. so we got the shorts we wanted and took them into the dressing room.. we were in there for about 5 mins, we walked out the store.. and a guy comes behind me and arrest me. I asked are you the police? He said yes. Then he said do you know why your being arrested? I said yes. He then asked my friend if he stole anything to.. He said no. Then he took me in the back of the room and explained to me i had been arrested for shop lifting, I gave him the clothes back, i then asked why did you arrest me, there was no probable cause of me taking anything in front of anyone. There is no cameras with me taking anything and no one even seen me take anything. He said, we have you on camera taking clothes into the dressing room and coming out with less that what you took in. I confessed guilty, and signed some papers then he called the police to have them come do a report, im now banned from the store, and am going to have to pay the store for the stolen merchandise and then some. I also have to call the court to say if i plea guilty or not, Im going to plea guilty seeing as i already told the cop i stole. He said im getting a misdemeanor. So since im 18, and have a clean record until now, what do you the the punishment will be and how much? I live in arizona.
