Flashing red light instead of stop sign on ticket, NC

Hello!

I got pulled over due to failure to stop at stop sign. Officer had marked on the ticket failing to stop on flashing red light, though. It's the choice in the same line stop sign/flashing red light. I'm getting notice from DOT stating that there's no such light. Probably they will put that there is the sign though. Also, Officer actually asked me if I had seen stop sign - so he probably have it in his notes on his copy.

Could my ticket be dismissed based on that mistake?

You can try, but probaby not. You failed to stop for a traffic control device. Weather it's a sign or light, you failed to stop for it.

Your best bet to beat it is by playing the waiting game and hoping the officer does not appear in court. 50-50 chance.
