I am German and was on vacation in Bishop, CA, Inyo County, when I got a speeding ticket
in an AVIS rental car. I wanted to pay on the spot, but the officer said, I will be getting mail in Germany. That was in October 2000. In March 2005 I got a notice, which was
hardly readable, saying I now owe 445 $ and that there was a warrant out for my arrest.
I found out that they had misplaced this notice for years. I would like to pay the full
amount, because I got friends in America and would like to visit California again, but I don`t know what a docket number is, and what the best way is to pay. How can I be
sure that the arrest warrent is invalid after I pay ?
Thanks a lot for all help.

You might want to negotiate this although usually it only occurs if you appear in court. I've never had a parking ticket with fees that weren't reduced. Perhaps communicating with the department of motor vehicles in Inyo County can be of more assistance.
