My wife quit her job 3 days into the month, and about mid-month she received a registered mail from her former employer. They sent an invoice for payment due upon receipt to them for full health insurance premiums that they paid for the month as well as her portion. She contacted them and they told her that they cannot do anything, because they already paid it and she is responsible for paying them back every penny they paid. They told her they paid it the first week of the month. I don't see why they cannot request a refund since they paid it the first week and she left the first week. Is there anything we can do or are we stuck paying for it? Need some advise. Thanks you.
