I used to work at a company in NJ, I worked in but live in NY. After i left my former employer inform i had some amex personal expense. I had a amex card in my name which i was authorize to use. I inform my form employer to send me a spread sheet of the personal expense. so i can reimburse the company. He also contact me on my phone and and send me emails which i respond and ask. Now he is asking about expense reports which was approved by a the CFO who worked at the company, he is say that there is not enough backup for the expense reports. He wants me to come to the company to discuss, i told him a started a new job a week ago and i don"t have time to take off from my new job, any question he have he can ask me over the phone. He requested that i should come in to the company that's located in NJ. Another thing he called my former boss on her cell phone and discuss the situation with her. She is now my new boss. I feel like he is trying to set me up . By the this is the CEO of the former company the amex cards and my expense reports were all approve by management be he came in last year of November. what grounds do i have?

You need to repay the money you owe. Other than that you don't have any grounds for anything. Nothing you have posted, suggests that your former employer is doing anything illegal.

Your post is a little broken up. Do you have proof the expenditures were authorized? If so E-Mail them to the previous employer. If your new boss was your former boss that authorized the expenditures, that is why the new boss (at the former company) is calling the old boss (who is now your current employer, but previously authorized expenditures when you were both employed at the previous company). It does not sound like a set up to me the books just have to be cleared up.

If you owe the money pay the money, if not tell the former employer to sue you, and make your case to the judge for a final determination. You will have to show the expenditures were authorized.
