At our city ballpark, there are 2 fields. While the boys had a baseball game, my daughters team had a practice. During the course of her practice she hit a fowl ball that went over the backstop, hit the roof of the concession stand and then hit the windshield of a van parked behind the concession stand. The owner of the van is now demanding we pay for it. She has sent us the bill and a letter asking for our immediate payment. My question is, is there legal precedence for this. I have never in 30 years of playing ball seen the person who hit the ball in a game or practice pay for damage to a windshield. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Anybody who parks near a ball game assumes the risk that a ball will hit his car.

Everybody always wants someone else to pay for their stupidity and our legal system actually encourages the practice.

Hey SJ, howcome I got demoted but you are still Chief?
