I went to the casino, found 100 on the floor as I was leaving. I kept it not knowing that it was against the law. I soon found out with a letter from the court that I was charged with criminal conversion against some lady. I went to my court date and plead not guilty. I can't afford an attorney for my next court date. Do I plead no contest or ask for diversion program? I've never been in trouble in all my 46 years. Please help!

The laws in each state vary, but typically money is treated the same as any other found property. The finder must make a reasonable effort to return the property to the owner. If the property is unclaimed then the finder is in the clear.... but most people would have you give the money to the police as found property. After a certain period, typically 30-90 days, if the property goes unclaimed then the finder can keep it.
In this case, had the person that lost the $100 made a report that the money had been stolen or lost, it would easily have been returned to the rightful owner.
Of course, it never happens that way.

Casinos are full of cameras. It is likely that the OP was seen on video doing something more suspicious than just picking up a bill and walking away. Who knows...

Plead not guilty.
