I MADE A MISTAKE I WROTE FRAND BUT ITS GRAND THEFT AND DEALING STOLEN PROPERTY.
Hello all i have been in fl for 2 1/2 years never involved with the state of fl law. 1 week ago i was arrested for grand theft and dealing stolen propery .1 year ago i had worked for a subcontracting compant as a sub installing cable for brighthouse ,the company i worked for is called knight enterprise ,i trained for about a month ,then finaly was sent on my own to work .they used speacial tools in which i had to pay for bit by bit out of my weekly check,,they took out a percent for the tools ,i was also given installation supplies like wires connecters screws and more.. . i decided to quit at the second month and went to return my items being that they were not fully paid for. the stock supervisor had a check list and checked off each tool ,but stated they do not accept the polo shirts and drill bits back, so fine ,i then told him to take all of the other wires and pieces ,clamps screws connectors etc. he stated that they do not take those items back and that i keep them.
so i left . and all was good ,i had the leftover wires and items he said that i keep for a year in my garage and decided to sell them on craigslist. i had a guy call me about the ad ,he was interested but in my ad i stated make an offer for all, i did not put a price because i just wanted to get this stuff out of my garage,i have tried to put it out for garbage but they refuse to take it because if the huge wood spools. so he calls and comes over and ask if i would accept 100.00 for all and i said sure" he then calls his buddy and all of a sudden cops pull up. ,he stated he was from lost prevention for brighthouse .so i said ok what is going on here, he stated this is illegal to sell and he asked how did i get it so i told him i worked for knight enterprise a sub for brighthouse and it was left with me and i was told to keep it. they calculated that it was 300.00 worth of items and arrested me . they took a statement on tape recorder and ask to comfirm that i was selling it and was willing to accept 100.00 for all and i said yes.they asked me if i knew that these items were stolen and i said again i was told to keep these items because they do not take them back" ,,,note no one has tried to contact me from brighthouse or the subcontracting company to tell me i have items that need to be returned. nor have they given me a returned item checklist. i went to the subcontracting compant after i got out of central booking and ask them if the guy that was there when i quit was still working for this company and everyone said he had quit. i asked them to give me a checklist for what i had returned and what else was needed to be returned ,i have to go in on monday to get the list.,, i have to obtail a lawyer and go to court on jan.20th this does not make any sense ,but many people told me that they have to prove that i stold it and explain why no one has attempted to contact me for retrieval of these items for almost a year , i also have phone and internet modemn service with them so they have all of my info along with my address , and most say of course if i knew it was illegal to sell or that it was stolen why would i invite someone to my house to buy it with my two kids and wife home? also i was told to keep the drill bits and shirts , how would i know that if i did not try to return them? i also found out that when you beging to work for knight ,they hold a percent of money to accumulate a retainage amount that in the event that you quit you would receive that back at the ending of the year ,,that covers any installations that went wrong and someone has to go back to repair it they will get paid from that retainage,no one has given me any info on that. also the day after i called the supervisor for my checklist he thinks i owe 68.00 for a tool and magnetic signs that has there name on it. so i asked him if i did not call him ,when the hell did the company think they would have contacted me maybe 5 years later .some people say that i will win this because lack of communication and lack of effort to contact and retreive these items . people i know also feel that when the judge understands that i was given these items and it was not a theft they they would have to exclude that and dealing stolen property because it is not stolen i had it at home for almost a year and neither company gave a damn about reporting it or contacting me . please help with info we could be wrong too",,, i am 34 father of two and husband ,a home owner thats paid for in full and vehicles paid for in full but currently unemployed. oh yeah not only was i selling the cable items but also old stereo,furniture ,things that we do not need just to make up a little extra cash for the holidays , it ended up costing me 600.00 for bail and i spoke to one lawyer and its 2500 and if it goes to trial add 1000 extra. he gave me advice but he sait if for any reason im found guilty i wouls most likely get probation ,and that if any lawyers say they can get this dropped or dismissed ,,they are lying because there is no guarantee. but i did ask him at the end of the consultation what does he see at the end of this and he just said that he sees this going away"??
