friend needs help about a judgement

my friend is a contractor a judgement for 40,000.00 was placed against him for a 3,000.00 roof job because he failed to appear he has been making payments to a lawyer but now the lawyer wants to schedule depositions every week and is constantly trying to change the amount for him to pay because his income fluctuates is this legal or is it harassment?shouldn't there be a set payment amount even if his income does change ? if anyone knows the rules the lawyers are supposed to follow in collecting a judgement please respond!!!!!!we are in pennsylvania if that helps

I honestly don't know enough about this case to comment. I can't imagine why a 40K judgment was placed against the contractor for a 3K job. Something much more evidently happened here and I don't think you're listing all the important details.

there is more they tried to say that the leak in the roof ruined the whole porch and the judgement was granted because he failed to appear but he wants to know his rights pertaining to the judgement itself what the lawyer collecting the payments is and is not allowed to do by law
