My roommate and I recently had a party where minors were present. We are both over 21 and had a sign up saying that people under 21 not drink. We weren't offering alcohol but we wanted to make sure we wouldn't get in trouble. The cops ended up coming to the house bc they heard there was a fight. As they were talking to my roommate, a guy walked out of the house and bumped into a police officer. He was underage and had been drinking. The said they had probable cause then to enter, but we asked they get a search warrant. The cops then kept us outside the house and would NOT allow us to enter for about an hour and a half until the got the search warrant. They entered and asked everyone with IDs to show them. A lot of ppl did not have their IDs but some did (21 and under). There were about 10 minors that got to leave blowing 0s. The 21 and up got to leave as well. In total 5 minors were arrested. The cops took them and told us we MIGHT get charged with inducing for providing a place for minors to come. Two weeks later we get letters summoning us to court on March 27th for Furnishing, Class C misdemeanor 7.1-5-7-8. We did not furnish, so I was just wondering what we could do in defense?
