I rec'd a notice from my employer showing a writ for wage garnishment... I had to relocate to a hotel and was not receiving mail so I had no idea this was coming... It was my intent to work out an arrangement to repay landlords. I became financially unstable after being hospitalized . Thank goodness I'm working again and I was just financially prepared for this ... Is there anything I can do to avert this or will I have to bite the bullet?

You have three options, "777":
You can quit your job, and they'd get nothing, too.
You can pay the judgment holder in full, the levy goes away.
You can keep working, keep earning, they'll keep snatching until they're paid in full.

I hope things turn around for you soon.
Happy holidays and good luck next year.
