Garnishments in Florida, OH Resident

I have been working with the State to pay taxes on a failed business from 1998. I was doing an Offer and Compromise, but they declined my offer. Two weeks later the garnished my husband's wages, and I fear they will garnish mine as well. My employer is in Florida and I live in Ohio. Can Ohio garnish my wages as well? - most likely, but need to know. I have contacted them to try and work something out, but they have not been cooperative.

My understanding is that they can file a foreign judgment in your state and can pursue garnishing your wages but I am not 100% sure. While I can recommend a good attorney, I'm not sure what one could actually do for you except cost you additional money that might be best off used in trying to settle your debt. I wish you luck.
