I was in a car accident in 2003, and unknowingly, my insurance had lapsed. I had my license suspended for a year, had to carry an sr-22 for 3 years, which i did, and have been making payments to this law firm/collections agency. the original accident report said damage was maybe $3,000 but the "judgment" which I had no idea what it was was for almost $11,000. I've been making $120 payments for 3 years now for a total of $4,180 total paid. Last december, I fell behind a few months and I guess they entered a judgment against me, again without my knowledge. When I brought the "account" up to date, they said there could be a post-stip, which I signed, but on advice from attorney friend crossed out the line that said they could suspend my driver's license. i don't think it was ever entered. now, I've fallen behind 2 months, the economy is you know where and i'm in sales, and just received a call that they went ahead and "suspended my license" (note they didn't say driver's license so I don't know if it's valid)-my question is, is it worth it to hire an attorney to fight this and get this done because I've already paid close to $4k? I'm soooo tired of dealing with the nastiness! Thanks for any and all help!

Yes, You had better hire a attorney-- they have suspended your licence-- it is against the law to drive w. no insurance-- this is what there reasoning is-- they really dont care about your financial troubles etc..
