When i rented house my owners said he will be doing sub lease with me .
He also took my documents through mail. Later he did do sublease with me and said verbally that he will not do sublease and i have to pay month on month rent.
I requested owner to take rent by cheque but owner only took deposit and first month rent in cheque.
Then for next 4 moths he took in cash.
Now my owners has asked me to vacate my flat. He has verbally said that he will be returning my deposit with in 15 days . When i asked direct question in mail he just replied that he will be giving post i vacate and he validate all by bill dues and other but not on time frame.
So looking at all other experiences i am not very sure he is planning to give my deposit back.
On top of that owner has a building where he rented two apartment and leaving in one.
I read that i need to give provide 30 days written notice to the landlord invoking the provisions of this act.
can you help me what i can do in this situation and format of notice if i need to send to him and when i should send him after vacating house or while on notice period
