Getting out of lease when feeling unsafe

I am a 20something female who is single and living alone. The apartment complex I live in was ok when I moved in, and seems to be getting worse. I have had a number of incidents happen (such as a guy hiding in a dumpster claiming to be hiding from the cops, sounds of loud glass shattering, and my car broken into) and read in the lease the management is not responsible for my safety. I feel very unsafe here and I have call at the hospital I work in once a week and can be called in any time of the night. Am I able to get out of my lease because I feel unsafe?

Unfortunately, not without the risk of financial penalties (i.e., owing rent until the end of your lease, being sued by your landlord for breaking this lease).
