My neighbor agreed to help me pour a concrete pad for an addition I am planning to build. I asked him to help to cut down on costs.
At the time, I was asking to pay for the material. It was for my pad.
He declined and said not to worry about it.
After a year later, he has sent me an outrageous bill. For material, labor that he had hired to do the job while I was not there.
I had sent him a letter stating that I was always in agreement to pay for the material. I am not paying for his workers whom he had hired.
He is now sueing me for these costs plus court costs.
Does he have a case with no contract signed?
