I returned an order for a customer on to a gift card, and used some of the money. the total that i spentis $1020, i got fired and was released on unsecured bail, being im 20 and have no record. with that in mind i live in delaware, and im really worried what will happen when i have to go to court. can anyone explain whats going to happen to me?

You need to start calling Lawyers your recors is least of your worries. In your state any theft over $1000.00 is a felony! This could mean prison

On the paper that I got after talking to a judge that night, the cop was well knowledged and he told me that it is a 'class a misdeamor' and that's what I will be ruled for. Is this true?

If they give you misdemeanor charge your lucky. However if DA sees dollar value you can decide to charge you with a felony. You need to talk to a lawyer. Its unlikely (but possible) to get Diversion in your case. It would help if you took action yourself before court. One such action would be to enroll in an anti shoplifting course.

thank you is there anything else i should i know? like i said the origional judge said that it was a class a misdeamor... can that change? and also if i go with pleading guilty in common pleas court what can happen?
