Girlfriend moved out brought Chief of Police took clothes of hers and daughters and other things told Chief there was nothing else in the house that she wanted. She left two truck loads of things in my house and in my garage nothing of any value mostly personal things. Things she has carried around for years blankets her grandmother made her. There are some furniture. Some clothes childs toys. The question is how long if any should I keep this stuff before I throw it out or give it away or sell it? Or should I hold on to it. It was a really bad breakup so we are going thru police or other people to deal with everything.

A: Send her a bill for storage at the rate of $100 per month. Send it certified mail, return receipt requested AND also first class. That will get you some action.

Thanks, Was told by Sheriff I had to hold it for a year and a day before I could get rid of it and I could send her a monthly bill for rental. Something about abandonment of the items.
