My name is Zach and I live in Connecticut. I am 15 years old and my girlfriend Alycia is 16. She has been living with her aunt and uncle for about 18 months now. Her current living arrangement just isnt working out for her.
Her aunt is one of the nicest people you have ever met, but im pretty sure that she isnt playing with a full deck if you know what I mean. (If you are religious, I respect your right to believe whatever you want and dont mean to offend you with this) She has a very personal relationship with God. By this, I dont mean that she just reads the bible an goes to church every Sunday, but she hears the voice of god talking to her and has conversaions with him. She says that she can see demons walking around her house and that God gives her visions. She had a problem with drugs for many years and was on and off for the past decade.
She received custody of Alycia about three months after she finished a two month rehabilitation program. I am pretty sure that these years of drug abuse have something to do with her current mental status. I mysef am not religious, and she knows this. Her aunt and uncle are both very strict when it comes to rules and regulations, which I have had no problem with, up untill now. She dosent let Alycia have any friends unless her aunt approves of them (she hasnt approved of a single one in 18 months). She doesent have a cell phone, and she cant go anywhere whithout her aunt or uncle. I know this isnt unheard of, but I am in love with this girl and refuse to sit by and do nothing while she suffers because of this. Her aunt and uncle believe that they can break her with enough rules and punishment, but she simply dosent have the type of personality that will allow this to happen.
Let me fill you in on her current situation and history. She lived with her parents untill she was about 11. Her parents couldnt handle taking care of a child at that point, and she moved in with her grandmother. She was there untill she went through a rebelious stage at around the age of 13-14. She got in trouble a litle too much at school and her grandmother couldnt take it anymore. Alycia was then sent to live with her aunt and uncle. For a while she was doing fine and everything was great. Her aunt then got very strict with her and started to control every aspect of her life.
I met Alycia about 5 months ago and was a bit nervous at first, but I then fell in love with her. Now, im only 15 years of age and im not sure what love really is, but ive had my share of relationships and have never felt this way before. The only way I can really describe it is, when I think about her, I get butterflies in my stomach. When I tell her that I love her, I almost feel bad because when I say "I love you" it seems like there should be more to describe all that I feel than just those three little words. I would do absolutley anything for her and she feels the exact same way about me.
Recently, Alycia's situation has become worse. Her aunt found out that we were fooling around and was pissed off to say the least. Her aunt hasnt let me see her outside of school in about three weeks and its killing me. I can only talk to her over the phone and at school. She isnt happy and shes afraid to go home to her aunt's house. She wants to leave her aunt's house and live somewhere else. Her grandmother is in the hospital and dosent have much longer. Her father is a drunk and verbally abuses her every chance he gets, which is every weekend when she goes home. Her mother is severley depressed and has been this way for the past 15 years.
Alycia has no relatives and nobody else in the world except for her grandmother and I. Ive already spoken to the DCF hotline representitives and they've told me that there is nothing we can do, as her aunt is her legal gaurdian. She has nowhere to go except for the option of living with me. (My mother has agreed to this only if the right legal actions were to take place) Almost everytime I talk to her she talks about running away and going to my house, but this cant happen. I've spoken to her aunt today, and she has said that she's tired of dealing with all of this and Alycia can leave and go anywhere she wants except for my house. She has given up on this girl (she actually told me so) and will either imprison her at her house or dump her off with DCF. Alycia needs help and has nobody in the world except me. I have friends who have been through the DCF system, and not one of them enjoyed it. Not to mention tha fact that she could be re-located to anywhere in the state if she was put into foster care.
I really need to hear that there is something I can do to get help for the girl that I love. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as im completley out of ideas.
