I was charged with giving a malt beverage to a minor (19) the other night. The cop told me that I could take a plea and only have to pay the court costs + community service fee for 24hrs which is 200 dollars. This is my first offense and I am not sure what is going to happen when I go to my court date in a month and a half. Do they offer the plea or do I have to request a plea. Will this come after they ask me if I am innocent or guilty? Just anyone with some knowledge of the situation could give me a run down of what the routine is.
