I just bought a 1994 Camaro from a private party. He told me the car ran good and that there were no problems with it. He had to have known the car wouldn't pass inspection and now i cant drive the car due to it not having front brakes and tons of other problems! Am I out of luck? Please help, i need some advice. Thank you

Are you over the age of 18 years old, with sound mental faculties? If you answered yes to both, the following applies. If you answered no to one or both, which one?

Private party auto sales are always "as is".
You should (or could) have had the car checked over by a mechanic, prior to buying it.
I guess you chose not to do that.
Now, unfortunately for you, you're stuck with a big, metal paper weight.

Thank you for the advice. I did not know that private party was "as is". I guess i will know better next time. I am a little dumb when it comes to stuff like that.

There is a famous phrase that Army Judge's information refers to:

"Caveat Emptor" which also means "let the buyer beware."

Whenever you buy anything used, be it a car, a bicycle, television or toaster oven, always check the item BEFORE you accept it. If you aren't comfortable that it will work more than a few days, ask for the seller to give you a short written guarantee to that effect, e.g. money back if the car or television fails within 10 days of purchase. Otherwise, request to have a reasonable inspection done on high priced items. In the absence of a guarantee, used items are usually AS IS.

One exception - if the buyer knew of a defect and deliberately tried to hide that defect from being discovered by reasonable inspection.

Good luck...
